If you haven't already noticed there are several popular browsers on the market used by a wide range of users/surfers and the professional community alike. Convergenex is committed to closely watching user trends and statistical data for all major browsers especially Mozilla's FireFox and Microsoft's Internet Explorer, as these are the industry top browsers for the majority of the internet users (as of July 24th 2005). The purpose of this page is two fold. We want to inform you of our current practices as well as share with you our findings on current browser industry news. Hence this information directly effects our business as well as the business of our clients.
Convergenex will develop/code with intention for compatibility with the most widely used browser(s). This does not mean our sites will not appear functional in other web browsers. Our web sites will work consistently in the current versions of the following web browsers, on their most recent platforms. From there, if further compatibility is a large concern to a client, more rigorous testing in more browsers can be purchased as added service to your project. We will make sure your site works in Internet Explorer 6.0+ on the most recent version of Windows (XP/2000). We will make sure your site works on IE 5.2+ for the most recent version of Mac OS (OSX).
- IE 6.0+ Windows
- IE 5.2+ Mac OSX
Convergenex does not guarantee the look-and-feel in browsers beyond this spec.
What about the other browsers?
Again as aforementioned, this does not mean our web sites only appear as intended in Internet Explorer. We do not design web sites FOR Internet Explorer, we design web sites that WORK in Internet Explorer. With reasonable effort and time (often without additional cost) we will work out any minor "kinks" that effect a site not 100% compatible with the following browsers:
- Safari 1.2+ Mac OSX
- Opera 7.54+ - Windows PC
- Mozilla 1.7+ - Windows PC
- Firefox 1.0+ - Windows PC
- Netscape 7.1+ - Windows PC (Netscape, Firefox and Mozilla are all Gecko-based browsers, so really, if a site works in one of these, it works in all three)
We will exhaust all simple solutions and/or options first before additional cost is required for further research into incompatibility issues.
The reasoning behind our current compatibility practice is in response to current browser market trends. (Please see below)
